Police identify car involved in fatal Melbourne hit and run

A 54-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car on Forest Road at Forest Hill around 10:00pm (AEST) last night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brad McArthur says debris found on the road has helped police narrow down their search to a four-wheel-drive manufactured between 2003 and 2007.
"We are looking for a light coloured Toyota Kluger," he said.
"We don't know where that vehicle is at this stage. We don't know who was driving at this stage but we will not rest until we've identified that vehicle and the person driving it."
Detective Senior Sergeant McArthur said officers are keen to locate the driver of the vehicle.
"The driver of this particular vehicle, I'm sure that they are suffering feelings of guilt, their conscience would be bothering them if they had any sort of normal moral values," he said.
"The best way of alleviating those feelings of anxiety is to get in touch with the police as soon as you can.
"We treat these matters extremely seriously and we will not rest until we've identified the person involved."
